The plan for the football game on Saturday is for the Dawson-Boyd members to ride the bus from Sounds Like Love to the game in Morris. They will return to Sounds Like Love after the game for the remainder of the event. They will need a signed permission slip to travel with the group. If they are in the band, they can send their instrument with Mr. Szumal and meet them there. Please make sure you bring money to get into the game-tickets are $5 and for lunch.

Sounds Like Love 2011

-Load @ 2:45 pm on Friday by Grace or the school
parking lot-watch for 2 school buses. You can park in
the school parking lot.

-Bring a sack supper to eat on the bus on Friday.

-Bring a sleeping bag and pillow.

-Pack light. You will need a casual outfit for Saturday,
pjs and your khaki pants and shoes for Sunday.

-Money for supper on Sunday night and for any
merch from the band.

-We should return by 9 pm on Sunday to Dawson.

-If you want to go and watch the concerts on Sunday,

We have started to work on our songs for Sounds Like Love and there is some great music. Please remember that we need you to make your decision about membership by September 28th! Thank you to all who have supported the Agape Singers this year! We ended a great year with an awesome trip to Montana. What a great God we serve. We travelled thousands of miles safely and without incident. Praise God! Thank you to the churches who opened their homes to us and fed us so well. Sounds Like Love 2010

It's here~Sounds Like Love 2010. We depart at 3 pm this Friday from the parking lot by the gym (you'll see the bus). Remember your khaki pants, a sleeping bag and a sack supper. Agape Singers are selling Hot Stuff Pizzas to raise money to cover the costs of Sounds Like Love and tour 2011. Pizzas are $10 this year and there are 4 kinds to choose from. Orders must be in by November 3rd for delivery on November 19th afterschool. If you need pizzas, please contact an Agape member or email agapesingers@msn.com and we can order them for you. We will be having a meeting on Tuesday, July 27 at 7 pm at Grace Lutheran Church in the basement to discuss the plans for next year. We would like anyone planning to be in the group to attend, with their parents if possible. We are going through a transition into new leadership with the retiring of Melanie as music director and Lynette as spiritual leader. Please pray for the group as God leads us through this time of change. We look forward to the potential for a great future following His plans! We thank Melanie and Lynette for all their years of service.

The 2 practices next week are MANDATORY for those who plan to tour.

Sunday May 23rd: We will be singing at the 2nd service at Grace starting at 10:45 am. Singers please arrive at 9:30 and meet in the sanctuary after 1st service has cleared. This is it for those who are not going on tour, so we hope to see everyone there!
Also remember there is waffle feed for Route 212 from 8:30 - 12:30 if you want a tasty treat before or after!

After the service, please plan to travel to Appleton to the Pioneer Public TV event in the evening. If you are unable to attend any of these events, please call Stephanie....Remember to wear blue polos, khaki pants and nice shoes!

Agape Singers Membership :: General Events

Members of the Agapes Singers can look forward to these fun fellowship events which take place through the year.

Weekly Agape Gatherings: We meet each Wednesday evening (August through June) from 6:30 t0 8:30pm at Grace Church in Dawson. Our gatherings consist of times of praise & worship, devotions, fellowship, and preparation for our worship services.

Agape ROUND UP Night: This event takes place the second-to-last Wednesday of August at Grace Church in Dawson. Round Up Night is our annual KICK-OFF event!

Sounds Like Love: The Agape Singers participate in the annual Sounds Like Love Festival in Mahtomedi, Minnesota the second weekend each November.

Agape Worship Services: The Agape Singers usually lead worship services periodically beginning in the month of February through early June. These worship services are held at churches scattered throughout our local communities.

Agape Tour: Each year (usually the second week in June) the Agape Singers conclude their year together with a nation-wide tour. Tour is typically 8-10 days in length and consists of radical worship, intense spiritual growth, crazy-fun fellowship, and an opportunity to explore God's beautiful creation throughout the United States while sharing His love and spreading the Gospel with all we meet. Tour concludes with one last power-packed worship service upon our return home.

Summer Break: The Agape Singers do not meet on Wednesday nights in the month of June through the end of August. Students are encouraged to enjoy their summer vacations and meet together for Bible studies on Sunday nights. (Email us for current locations and meeting times.)

Who Are the Agape Singers?

We are a contemporary Christian singing group of students in grades 9-12, providing worship services in roughly 20 churches a year. Those worship opportunities are offered to churches in the local area as well as churches in several other states on our annual summer tours. In addition to the worship services that we provide in churches, we also present special programs in ministering to people in nursing homes, hospitals, and Bible camps.

In reaching out with God's Word through spoken words and songs, we have traveled nation-wide. We have gone out to provide worship opportunities in 35 states as well as 2 provinces in Canada.

The message of Agapes lies in the group's name. Agape is one of the Greek words for love - the complete and self-sacrificing love that God has for his children. We hope to touch hearts with the belief that life is made whole through the acceptance and sharing of Agape love. This group is out to share the gospel message because we believe in serving the Lord Jesus Christ through our fellowship and song.
